In the early 80's, “splatter” took over as the signature RodsbyDru custom rod look. It originated when founder Drew Thompson and crew were commercial bait fishing, and it was not uncommon to find your rods had been stolen overnight. Drew’s friends asked for something “crazy” and “different” so when the rods were later found in a pawn shop, you could prove ownership of such crazy looking poles!
So, the byDru splatter style was born, and 40 years later you’ll find them on professional sport fishing boats around the world.
